Jeonju

Mar 31.
Meet & greet at the airport and your holiday begins! Visit Jeonju, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and where the Joseon Dynasty originated. Wander around Korea’s largest neighbourhood of traditional hanok houses – now filled with tea houses, boutiques and little shops. Tuck into famous street snacks, bibimbap and enjoy a sumptuous welcome dinner tonight.

 
 

Baekyangsa Temple

Apr 1.
Take a step back into nature in the mountains. Your one-night temple stay includes exquisite vegetarian temple cuisine and private time with none other than Jeongkwan Sunim herself. Have a chat, visit her gardens, learn meditation, and assist in the kitchen or look on as she prepares meals.
Note: simple korean-style sleeping arrangement with heated floors (gender separated). Shower and toilet are shared facilities

 
 

Gwangju & Around

Apr 2. 3. 4.
Gorgeous cherry blossoms along a stretch of 4km near Jirisan mountains. A hilltop green tea plantation, sea views, stroll around a small bamboo forest and admire the countryside landscapes. We will also visit a soy sauce master where we learn about traditional fermentation in ceramic jars and taste them. Fresh seafood, makgeolli and tteokgalbi local speciality

 
 

GONGJU

Apr 5.
On the way back to Seoul, we will drive through lands which used to be part of the Baekje Dynasty – one of the famed Three Kingdoms of Korea.
Lunch at a famous local ssambap restaurant.

Seoul

Apr 5. 6.
More cherry blossoms at the Seokchon Lake Festival (2019 dates to be confirmed). Gastronomic modern korean fine dining & more tasty meals.

(1) Discover and make ehwaju, a yoghurt-like alcohol drink that is made during pear blossoms (2) Hands on workshop on the beautiful and useful art of bojagi, gift cloth wrapping
