Yati: “The FOOD!!! Thank you sooo much as we had such a wonderful gastronomic adventure. We are now spoilt and would never look at tempura, sushi, sashimi, eel in the same light! Just EXQUISITE and this is despite my dietary constraint. Before it slips my mind, the noodle house just outside Natadera Temple that you have recommended has one of the BEST tofu that we had. And it was snow crab season at Kanazawa in November!!!”
Irene: “I am such a Jap cuisine snob now that the generic Jap restaurants here are no longer good enough! What have you done to our palate!”
“The trip was AWESOME!! The wifi walker was a great help during this trip! It kept us connected and we had reception even in the mountains! Having English programs on our iPads gave us some connectivity to the outside world while we were in the outskirts. We encountered snow at Tateyama due to the drizzle. Weather wise, it was wet in most of the places that we visited – but cannot complain as we had days where it was cloudy/no rain which enabled us to do our walkabout.
Thank you for the onsen stays! I am still bound by my conservativeness and was only able to enjoy Beniya Mukayu’s private onsen to the fullest. Irene, on the other hand also did the public baths in the onsen ryokans. Each has its own uniqueness but Beniya would take top prize for this visit. The room, food, service – just wonderful! It was also good to meet hotel interns there that could speak English! However, we keep going back to Yama No Chaya as comparison – what have you done to us!
Thanks again for putting together our itinerary.. We had a great time!”
